The Southwyck Farm Story

In 1986, Diana Carl, and her late husband, Captain Bob, designed and built a lovely country home with a view of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Lawsonville, North Carolina, near Hanging Rock State Park. They named it Southwyck Farm, after Southwick H. Carl born May 3, 1826 in England.

Ten years later, Diana opened her beautiful home to the public as Southwyck Farm Bed & Breakfast.

Since then Diana has directed a series of improvements to delight her long-time guests and attract new Bed & Breakfast enthusiasts and travelers. Expansive covered decks, garden patios, walking paths and more have grown around her beautiful original home. A hot tub was added to ease the aches that come with a day of zip lining, river paddling, hiking and other activities that abound in the area.

Your Hosts

Diana, and husband, Paul, enjoy hosting guests and introducing them to all the local region has to offer. An avid world traveler, Diana has generously appointed Southwyck Farm with art and decor from far and wide.

Paul loves to be on the tractor mowing the fields or at the barn fixing something.  He will gladly assist in helping you find interesting things to see in the area. Ask him about fishing at the pond or trout fishing down the way in Francisco.
